Lead IT Data Scientist (Remote - US)

The Lead IT Data Scientist will drive the design, development, and deployment of advanced AI and machine learning solutions that inform critical business decisions. This role involves building predictive models, conducting exploratory data analysis, and developing scalable pipelines for large datasets. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business objectives, translate them into data-driven solutions, and ensure models are accurate, unbiased, and operationalized efficiently. The position requires strong proficiency in Python, R, and SQL, combined with experience in cloud-based platforms and CI/CD pipelines. Accountabilities:

• Lead the design, development, and research of complex AI/ML models to generate predictive insights and support business decisions.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand objectives and translate them into actionable data models.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis, clean and validate datasets, and build key datasets to support operational analysis.
• Develop, test, tune, and deploy AI/ML models, ensuring continuous integration and deployment using tools like Kubernetes or Docker.
• Monitor model performance, implement logging and error mitigation strategies, and refine models to improve accuracy and reliability.
• Produce fairness reviews and ensure models are free from bias.
• Lead team-wide initiatives to define best practices for model development, deployment, and workflow optimization.
• Communicate findings and results to non-technical business partners and provide guidance on AI/ML capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science) or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years of experience in AI/ML model development, data science, or related roles.
• Proficiency in Python and/or R for machine learning and statistical analysis.
• Strong SQL skills and experience extracting and manipulating data from diverse sources.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as DataBricks is preferred.
• Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience in developing scalable, high-quality, and reliable AI/ML solutions.
