This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Cloud Computing Specialist (CCS) SME in Virginia (USA).
As a Cloud Computing Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security, compliance, and operational efficiency of advanced cloud environments. You will assess and manage cybersecurity risks, perform certification and accreditation reviews, and implement cloud security best practices across hybrid, edge, and cloud-native microservices systems. The role involves working with federal security standards, such as RMF, NIST, and FedRAMP, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to maintain highly secure and resilient cloud infrastructures. You will contribute to strategic planning, provide expert guidance on cloud deployments, and support audits and compliance activities. Accountabilities:
- Conduct Risk Management Framework (RMF) and FedRAMP assessments, audits, and Certification & Accreditation (C&A) reviews for cloud-based and enterprise information systems.
- Identify, analyze, and mitigate cybersecurity risks following DoD and federal security protocols and directives.
- Implement and maintain cloud security controls and privacy practices across hybrid, edge, and cloud-native infrastructures.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including audit reports and security assessment artifacts.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to integrate security best practices into architecture, operations, and deployment pipelines.
- Support compliance with NIST, DISA STIG/IAVAs, DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide, and Zero Trust initiatives.
- Provide guidance and mentorship on cloud security principles, configurations, and mitigation strategies.
Requirements
- Active Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance.
- Current ISC2 Certified Cloud Security Professional IA Level II Baseline Certification.
- Additional cloud certifications required (Google Cloud Engineer/Architect, AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud credentials).
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with DoD commercial cloud hosting solutions and multi-cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure, OCI).
- Strong expertise in cloud security principles, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
- Proficiency in assessing, documenting, and remediating cybersecurity risks for enterprise cloud systems.
- Experience with cloud deployment solutions (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and associated security controls.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and technical documentation skills.
