This role offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative water treatment solutions by supporting project design and media selection for a range of projects. The Applications Engineer will collaborate closely with sales and engineering teams to provide technical expertise, develop project cost estimates, and ensure optimal media performance for contaminant removal. The position combines hands-on technical evaluation with client support, vendor coordination, and continuous process improvement. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced in water treatment media applications, thriving in a dynamic and collaborative remote work environment. This is a highly impactful role that directly influences project success and sustainable environmental outcomes.
Accountabilities
- Collaborate with sales teams to influence equipment design and develop accurate project cost estimates during the bidding phase.
- Review project specifications, plans, and P&IDs to assess media requirements and design solutions.
- Create technical support documents, process improvements, and communication materials for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct media application engineering, evaluating water quality and the performance of GAC, IX resins, Organo Clay, and other treatment media.
- Coordinate media sourcing and procurement, working with global suppliers to secure necessary materials.
- Develop standard media specifications, establish QA/QC procedures, and support NSF certification processes.
- Provide training and technical support to internal teams, assist with project presentations, and participate in trade associations as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical Engineering.
- 2-4 years of applications engineering experience in the water treatment industry, with media expertise.
- Technical proficiency in project evaluation, media testing, and pre-sales support.
- Familiarity with RSSCT testing, technical specifications, and water treatment standards.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office; experience with AdDesignS is a plus.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced remote environment.
