About Ipas
We're a global reproductive justice organization that's been working since 1973 to ensure everyone can access the sexual and reproductive health care they need, including abortion. We believe that all people have the fundamental right to make decisions about their own bodies and health. That's why we work with partners across Africa, Asia and the Americas to build sustainable abortion and contraceptive ecosystems.
Our approach is comprehensive because we know that guaranteeing legal rights isn't enough - economic, cultural, religious, and systemic barriers still prevent many people from accessing care even where it's legal. We work strategically across institutions and communities to break down abortion stigma, expand knowledge about sexual and reproductive rights, and create ecosystems where people have the information they need to make decisions about their own health. We're a locally led, globally connected network that pays attention to equity, power, and accountability in everything we do.
