Atala PRISM by Input Output Global (IOG) is a self-sovereign identity (SSI) platform and service suite for verifiable data and digital identity built on the Cardano blockchain. It offers the core infrastructure for issuing Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs) and Verifiable Credentials (VCs), alongside tools and frameworks to expand the ecosystem.
As a Software Engineer in Test in the Atala PRISM team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of the platform through test planning, test case development, test automation, defect tracking, and test results reporting. You will collaborate with developers, product managers, and other team members to understand requirements and identify potential risks.
With a strong understanding of SDLC processes and the QA lifecycle, you play a key role in development projects and are responsible for defining, tracking, coordinating, and conducting tests before product launches to ensure software runs smoothly and meets client needs.
Duties
- Collaborate with product management, project management, and development teams to develop testing objectives
- Review and analyze system specifications
- Design and implement testing scenarios and scripts to address business and technical use cases
- Use existing tools and techniques to execute test cases and build/script new tools for performing testing/validation function
- Execute automated test suites and analyze test results
- Design and execute performance tests
- Participate in troubleshooting and triaging of issues with different teams to drive toward root cause identification and resolution
- Document, track, and escalate issues as appropriate
- Support production deployment of applications
- Support technical services as escalation points for reported bugs

Education / Experience
- Higher degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related subject (Bachelor's or Above)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in testing automation
- Experience in software engineering best practices and testing methodologies
- Experience in setting up automation for integration and e2e tests from scratch would be a plus
- Experience with at least one of the JVM-based languages (Java, Kotlin, and/or Scala)
- Expertise in libraries, tools, and procedures for the execution and automation of various types of tests (e.g. unit tests, property tests, integration tests, end-to-end tests, UI tests, performance tests, security tests)
- Experience in API and end-to-end testing
- Experience in performance testing
- Security testing experience would be a plus
- Experience with databases (Postgresql, MongoDB)
- Understanding basic concepts in cryptography and digital identity would be a plus
- Experience with at least one scripting programming language, e.g. Python or Linux Shell
- Experience with Linux and MacOS operating systems
- Experience with Git and GitHub
- Experience with continuous integration / continuous deployment (CI/CD)
- Experience working in an Agile setup (Scrum, Kanban)
