Summary
We are seeking an experienced Events Manager to join the Midnight team at IOG. As an Events Manager, you will help our team to identify the most impactful spaces for Midnight to be present both virtually and IRL and deliver engaging and successful events for a technology and blockchain focused audience. You will be familiar with working with large conferences, hackathons, private and virtual events. You will have significant experience with scheduling, vendor management, event production, coordinating content and logistics with different team members, reporting on KPIs and evaluating the success of events.

Within Midnight you will play a crucial role to enable our growth in the market by identifying events and activities that allow our team to increase our brand awareness, meet prospective partners, and engage with a global community that is interested in data protection, blockchain and zero knowledge technology.

You will collaborate with a cross-functional team within the Midnight organization, including product, developer relations, marketing and legal; as well as with teams within the Input Output Group (IOG) to maintain an exciting events calendar and ensure a great experience for participants, speakers, and organizers.

Duties

Virtual Events

  • Act as the lead producer for online events (via Discord, X, YouTube, and in-house podcasts via various streaming/conferencing platforms) to ensure high-quality and smooth production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop engaging and educational online events to showcase Midnight’s technology, ecosystem participants, product updates and more.
  • Manage virtual event platforms and technology, ensuring optimal functional and troubleshooting technical issues as they arise.
  • Monitor live comments and community participation to help drive dialogue and engagement.
  • Coordinate with hosts and guests to plan the lifecycle of the event, prepare appropriate content and demos, minimize friction and drive audience participation.
  • Create and implement pre-event rehearsal plans
  • Oversee the production timelines and deliverables to ensure all deadlines are met, with internal stakeholders and external agencies.
  • Help Midnight talent to secure speaking slots with top industry podcasts and webinars.

IRL Events

  • Plan and schedule participation at events around the globe, identify opportunities for speaking engagements, research, educational opportunities or brand awareness varying in size from local meetups to large conferences and tradeshows and hackathons.
  • Coordinate all logistics related to IRL events such as vendor management, booth production, swag, venue selection, catering, transportation, and audio-visual requirements.
  • When applicable, handle on-site event management, troubleshooting any issues that may arise during the event.

General Duties

  • Draft abstracts for event CFPs before deadlines to ensure Midnight has relevant and impactful engagements lined up throughout the year.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to promote and drive attendance for virtual and IRL events.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to analyze the success of each event and gather feedback to allow the team to improve..
  • Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring financial goals are met and cost-effective options are selected.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices in event management.

  • Have exemplary people and communications skills coupled with the savvy and maturity needed to garner the respect of colleagues and clients.
  • Identify metrics and KPIs to attain, ensure their completion of, and report on post mortem.
  • Be a single point of contact for coordination for all Midnight events whether virtual or IRL.
  • A strong team player, results oriented, metrics driven and capable of working in a fast paced, changing environment.
  • Willingness to travel and flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by events scheduled.

Education / Experience

  • Proven experience in planning and executing both virtual and IRL events.
  • Strong project management experience and ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
  • Proficient in virtual event platforms (E.g. Discord, X, Twitch, YouTube, etc), Hackathon platforms, and online collaboration tools.
  • Previous experience working on events targeted towards developers is a plus.
  • Previous experience working on events in the blockchain industry is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a producer role on virtual platforms is a plus.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
