Responsibilities

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Full Stack Developer PHP + WordPress is responsible for supporting the Product Management & Development departments across Internova Travel Group. Performs a variety of complex programming tasks, such as designing, documenting, and coding application programs. Provides application support and enhancements to existing and future applications. Defines technical system requirements, priorities, and viable alternatives. Coordinates the efforts of staff to locate, assess, install, test, and maintain computer software systems. Coordinates conversions and upgrades to vendor systems. The Full Stack Developer position requires strong business skills and would be responsible for reviewing, analyzing and modifying systems including encoding, testing, debugging and installing to support application systems. Liaise between business users and IT providers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and maintain high-performance, custom WordPress websites
• Develop responsive, pixel-perfect designs using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Create and manage custom WordPress themes and plugins
• Optimize websites for speed, performance, and scalability
• Develop and maintain PHP applications
• Troubleshoot, debug, and improve existing websites
• Plans, schedules, coordinates and implements major software upgrades, new releases, and installation of software applications.
• Coordinates installation of program fixes and troubleshoots programming and system problems associated with applications already in use.
• Provides technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new IT software projects and initiatives to support Internova systems.
• Identifies opportunities that can improve efficiency of business processes.
• Coordinates application development for multiple projects.
• Assists in managing an outsource relationship for 3rd party application development and programming consultants.
• Provides assistance and advice to business users in the effective use of applications and information technology.
• Writes technical procedures and documentation for the applications including operations, user guide, etc.
• Assists in the creation of the system design and functional specifications for all new development projects.
• Performs other IT-related work as required.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Requirements

Mandatory:

• Strong knowledge and capabilities with PHP ecosystem (Linux / Apache / PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript)
• Experience with WordPress in both front-end and back-end.

Nice to have:

• Solid understanding of SQL concepts
• Experience with version control (GIT) and some of the main platforms (Azure Devops, BitBucket, Github, Gitlab)
• Experience with API integrations
• Experience with Laravel
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent field
• Knowledge of different software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, SDLC, etc.)
• Experience with at least one cloud computing provider (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, OCI, Digital Ocean, etc.)
• Strong problem-solving skills; should be able to research and understand an undocumented set up and application.
• Demonstrated ability to develop relationships and communicate status with IT and Business partners, stakeholders and senior management.
• Demonstrated ability to understand the scope of project status, issues, and risks across multiple project initiatives and platforms and determine the key points that need to be communicated and acted upon.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Bonus:

• • Experience in containerized environments (Docker).
  • ElasticSearch / OpenSearch.
  • Background in technical SEO and website optimization
  • Experience working in Azure.

The salary range on this job posting/advertising has been developed to give applicants a range based on the local market where the candidate would be working. Many factors, such as years of experience, budget etc. are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.

This role may be eligible for an incentive, commission, bonus, or a discretionary bonus program based on the company’s financial goal achievement and individual performance.
