Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot
- Implement robust data persistence layers using PostgreSQL and optimize database performance
- Build event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka for real-time data processing
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices and design patterns
- Develop comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and estimation
Required Skills
Core Technologies
- Java 16+ proficiency with a strong understanding of OOP principles, design patterns, and the Java ecosystem
- Spring Framework expertise: Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security
- RESTful API design principles and best practices
- Database skills: PostgreSQL, SQL optimization, database design, and migrations
- Testing frameworks: JUnit, Mockito, TestContainers, integration testing strategies
- Messaging: Apache Kafka (producers, consumers, streams)
- Serialization and Marshalling: AVRO or Protocol Buffers for data serialization.
- Version control: Git, GitHub/GitLab workflows, branching strategies
Development practices
- Microservices architecture and distributed systems concepts
- CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Containerization with Docker
- API documentation (OpenAPI/Swagger)
- Logging and monitoring (ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana)
- Agile/Scrum methodologies
What we’re looking for
- Mid-level (3+ years) or Senior-level (5+ years) developers
- Comfortable with English (B1+)
- Strong sense of ownership, code quality, and system thinking
Nice to Have
- Node.js with Express.js or NestJS framework experience (Very Nice to have)
- Kubernetes and container orchestration
- GraphQL implementation experience
- Experience with reactive programming (Spring WebFlux)
- NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra)
- Performance tuning and optimization experience
- Security best practices and OWASP knowledge
