Position Summary:
IEM is looking for a Full-Time Project Manager to work within our Disaster Recovery Specialist team; the preferred candidate will have at least 7 years of program and/or project management experience working at a strategic level across multiple clients or applicants.
Primary Location:
- Candidates can originate from anywhere in the United States- Mainland or Puerto Rico
- Once hired you will deploy (travel) across Puerto Rico to client sites as needed to work the project
- You will work remote from home when not deployed
- All remote work environments require the ability to maintain minimum Internet speeds of 25 Mbps upload and 3 Mbps download, as well as a ping rate of 100 ms or less during working hours, regardless of the type and number of devices using your Internet connection. You must also have account privileges and access to your Internet service provider account during working hours for the purposes of maintaining the Internet connection, if needed.
Travel Requirements:
- This position will require work to be conducted onsite and may require work on weekends or in excess of 40 hours per week. Travel and other expenses are reimbursable in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations.
- All interested candidates must be willing to work on site for the duration of each disaster assignment. Assignments typically may last up to 12 months with potential for extension.
Essential Functions:
- Manage the overall operation and direction of the program or project
- Develops strategies for achieving project goals and objectives
- Develops and maintains Project Work Plan including budget and schedule
- Serves as Primary Point of Contact between client stakeholders and program team
- Provides written and oral reports to contract management and client representatives
Current Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Exposure to operating and monitoring federally-funded programs.
- Strong verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Superior interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism, empathy, and a cooperative attitude.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong analytical skills, and effective interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet.
Minimum Qualifications:
- FEMA Public Assistance or Federal Grants Management experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
- 7 years relevant experience that includes management of at least three (3) concurrent projects of similar size and complexity
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to read, write, and speak English and Spanish.
- Experience in Emergency Management and disaster recovery is desired
- Master’s degree in relevant field or relevant professional certification or accreditation
- Professional Registration or Certification including Professional Engineer (PE), Registered Architect, or Project Management
