IDC is searching for a Research Manager, Worldwide Insurance Digital Strategies for our Financial Insights team. The Research Director will be responsible for the development of research and client support for IDC Financial Insights coverage in the global insurance industry, reporting to the Program Vice President of IDC Financial Insights.

Responsibilities
- Track worldwide technology trends in the property & casualty and life insurance industry, including AI, data, analytics, governance, cloud, mobility, Internet of Things (IoT), and blockchain technologies.
- Maintain close relationships with technology providers and end users to strengthen research knowledge and foster timely and forward-looking research in order to provide actionable insights to both client types.
- Manage an annual research agenda, write clear, timely, and actionable research reports, develop and deliver presentations for clients and industry conferences, assist with marketing activities to raise industry visibility, conduct business development, and provide business development and sales support.
- Build the reputation and the revenues of the services within their domain containing consulting and custom research. Establish, implement, and maintain a business development and client renewal strategy for the program.
- Serves as subject matter expert & leader, demonstrating financial success through revenue growth, program profitability and expense management. And collaborate with the IDC Financial Insights team and other IDC analysts to leverage knowledge as much as possible.
- Respond in a timely manner to internal and external communications.
Qualifications
- A Bachelors' Degree (Advanced degree a plus)
- 5 + years of professional experience including 5+ years of related insurance industry experience (e.g. financial industry analyst, financial services consulting, auditing/compliance at a financial institution, vendor serving the insurance industry.
- Experience with systems and technologies that enable the insurance industry, e.g. policy origination, underwriting/actuarial, policy administration, claims, and cloud, AI, analytics, data management, digital channels, Internet of Things (IoT),
- Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Excellent writing and superior communication skills required including comfort in public speaking environments.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for client inquiry and internal collaboration
- Ability to clearly communicate and report data analysis including experience forecasting and publishing timely changes to market conditions
- Demonstrated industry expertise and thought leadership in the insurance industry
- Ability to travel (10 to 20%)

Salary range and additional compensation, including discretionary bonuses and incentive pay, are determined by a rigorous review process. This process considers the experience, education, certifications, and skills required for the specific role, equity with similarly situated employees, as well as employer-verified US region-specific market data provided by an independent 3rd party partner. The expected total annual compensation, depending on location and experience, is between $110,000 and $125,000 USD and is inclusive of base salary and variable compensation (if applicable).
