Clear-Com is seeking an Applications Engineer I. In this role will partner with the sales team to provide pre- and post-installation technical support, application support, and user training for Dealers, Distributors, Partners and Customers.
What you will do in the position:
Technical Assistance, Project Management, and Onsite Commissioning of New Installations
• Provides first-level technical support using all media streams.
• Performs setup, troubleshooting, and upgrade of all Clear-Com equipment, following standard scripts & processes.
• Creates and documents problems in the test lab given all of the specifics that cause a failure or issue.
• Resolves issues primarily based on existing information (solutions, manuals, tech notes, etc.).
• Ensures all issues are thoroughly logged using the relevant company QA process.
Pre- and Post-Sale Support
• Under supervision, provides basic equipment list for quotes and assists in drafting proposals.
• Sets up and demonstrates basic functionality of all college/academy equipment.
Training, Support, and Troubleshooting
• Provides basic product training and customer support to users both in-person and via all media streams.
• Provides application assistance and administers troubleshooting for existing systems.
Internal Communication
• Liaises with internal departments regarding customer repairs, problem resolution, and new product design.
• Assists on New Product Development (NPD) team, including supporting field trials
• Promotes the support team's mission statement.
• Shares thorough knowledge of core markets, secondary markets, plus basic knowledge of ancillary markets.
Performs all other job responsibilities as assigned.
What you will need to succeed in this position:
- Excellent communication skills, ability to build strong working relationships with both external customers and internal departments.
• Ability to understand or build basic audio circuitry (soldering capability is a plus).
• Self-starter, comfortable working without supervision.
• Familiar with use of electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, distortion analyzers, and various audio metering equipment.
• Troubleshooting skills and a logical problem solving.
• Knowledge of 2-way radios, IP Networks, basic AC power issues, professional audio, military communications systems, T1, and telephone theory and hardware .
• Solid understanding of circuits, schematics, and specifications.
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications like Office, Excel,Visio & PowerPoint, or other drawing and presentation applications, including CAD.
• Programming/coding experience a plus.
- For specific projects, ability to obtain local government clearance may be required.
Experience
• 2+ years related field experience.
Education
• BA or BS (college graduate) – Required.
• BA or BS (college graduate) - Preferred Electrical, Electronic, Broadcast, Computer, Telecomms or Audio Engineering.
Travel
• 30-50%
Pay Range: $62,600 - $83,500 per annum. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for the role. This may vary depending on experience and other factors. Our benefits package includes tuition reimbursement; 3 weeks paid vacation your first year, paid holidays, medical, vision and dental coverage, pet insurance, life insurance, and 401K contributions.
