The Role
The Credentialing Specialist coordinates the Medical Staff and Advanced Practice Providers credentialing and re-credentialing function. Ensures applications are processed in accordance with established policies, rules and regulations, bylaws and regulatory standards thereby ensuring that only qualified practitioners provide care at Hicuity Health.
You Will
- Adheres and complies with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements developed by Hicuity Health and regulatory agencies (i.e. TJC, government agencies, CMS, Medical Staff By-laws).
- Conducts, and maintains credentialing and privileging for all Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers.
- Conducts thorough primary source verification of the application file.
- Identifies issues that require additional investigation and evaluation, validates discrepancies and ensures appropriate follow up.
- Responds to inquiries from other healthcare organizations/third parties, interfaces with internal and external clients on day-to-day credentialing and privileging issues.
- Utilizes and maintains department systems including files, reports and records.
- Maintains integrity of data in credentialing database.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all business/work and medical staff information.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree; or Associate’s degree and 3 years’ of relevant work experience required.
- Experience with MD Staff software helpful
- Possesses sound judgment, integrity, critical thinking and professional demeanor at all times.
- Ability to work independently, handle multiple deadlines and work in a high pace environment.
- Ability to use tact and discretion, and maintain confidentiality.
- Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to learn new software, perform queries and develop reports.
This job may be performed remotely from anywhere in the United States, except that this job may not be filled or performed in Washington, California, New York, Illinois, or Colorado.
