Job Description:

HPE is hiring an experienced Director of Program Management to run high visibility, multi discipline program deliveries for large-scale infrastructure solutions. You will lead cross-functional teams delivering complex hardware, software and services to external customers under contract, and be the trusted interface between customers, engineering, supply chain, and operations.

HPE is the market leader delivering the infrastructure that powers the world’s most demanding workloads. Bring your leadership and delivery expertise to programs that combine scale, technical depth and real business impact.

This position can be based anywhere in the United States.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Partner with customer-side program directors, senior IT leaders, and business stakeholders responsible for integration and accountability for large-scale investments.

  • Own end-to-end delivery of high revenue programs (including datacenter builds, HPC/cloud deployments, complex software integrations, handover to sustaining support), ensuring scope, schedule, quality and profitability.

  • Lead and teams of program managers, project managers, technical teams—you will set strategy, coach talent, measure performance, and prioritize investments in the face of uncertainty.

  • Translate between technical and business stakeholders; communicate clearly at all levels and drive alignment when expectations must be reinforced or reset.

  • Coordinate across teams responsible for construction/project management, software/service delivery, manufacturing and supply chain to remove blockers and keep programs on track.

  • Be the primary point of accountability for customer commitments, contracts and statements of work.

  • Provide ongoing communication to key stakeholders, develop and nurture relationships with stakeholders, supporting team members, and the broader business.

  • Lead from the front, digging into challenging issues along side team members when needed, and delegate with intention to help ensure a scalable business and to build capability and leadership in your extended team.

Experience and Skills

  • Prior people management experience with a desire to focus on program development and delivery

  • Demonstrated track record delivering complex, contract based solutions to external paying customers (hardware + software + services).

  • Experience balancing very complex programs, often containing construction/project management, technical discovery, large scale hardware/software/service delivery as an integrated offering—comfort moving from datacenter planning to software requirements and factory/supply chain reconciliation.

  • Demonstrated experience working and leading in an environment with a high degree of uncertainty. Comfortable with the spirit of “I don’t know, but let’s figure it out together” when faced with the sort of growing pains inherent in a new business or segment.

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to translate across disciplines and lead difficult conversations.

  • Domain experience with high performance computing, cloud infrastructure at scale, datacenter planning, and complex software integration.

  • An ideal candidate will have experience as a doer or subject matter expert in one or more of the roles in an extended team encompassing facilities engineering, compute hardware installation and large scale system bringup, software integration and configuration/localization, services delivery, and thrive on extending your knowledge in those roles into progressively more complex program management
