Service Technician

Job Description

To install, service modify and demonstrate new dental equipment in customers’ practices.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities':

• Assist in the Installation or service of equipment for customers by working with the dentist and other team members.
• Install equipment according to drawings agreed by the customer. Use tools for assembly, fixing, electrical wiring and plumbing, etc.
• Ensure the equipment functions correctly by checking for leaks, noises, etc, during operation.
• Install or service dental equipment to manufacturer’s specifications, to pre-installed services provided by others.
• Install or service equipment to the highest possible standard within the allocated time period.
• Install into new / existing equipment secondary devices.
• Demonstrate installed equipment so the customer understands and is happy with its operation.
• Leave the working site clean and tidy wherever possible.
• Behave as a good ambassador of the company at all times, so the customer will be happy to do further business.
• Maintain good records of installations / Company equipment, tools, car, phone.
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required

Physical Activities:

This position will require the repair and installation of Dental Equipment into Dental Practices. Engineers will be expected to manoeuvre large equipment both in a warehouse and in the customer's surgery.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:

No Dental equipment experience required, but experience of electrical or plumbing an advantage.

Education:

A good standard of education with good numeracy and literacy skills. An understanding of decontamination principles is an advantage.

Specialised Knowledge and Skills:

• Ability to understand systems and motivation to continually develop your own knowledge.
• Consistency in delivery of support to service department.
• Strong customer interpersonal skills.
