Jennifer Hanna, with ancestral roots in India and Iraq, brought over 30 years of experience in the language service industry as an interpreter and translator, coupled with a history of owning successful small businesses in California since 1980. Tom Elias Hanna, leaving a career in immigration law, joined his mother to build a company initially responding to the urgent language needs of Iraqi refugees arriving in the United States. Their shared vision was to bridge the communication gap for those in need through excellent and compassionate language services.

Over the years, Hanna Interpreting Services has experienced significant growth, expanding its reach to serve over 1.1 million clients in more than 250 languages. The company, headquartered in San Diego, California, has grown from its initial two founders to employing over 70 individuals and boasts a vast network of over 3,000 professional interpreters and translators.
