GPS Group Peer Support

At GPS Group Peer Support, we believe that healing happens in community. Founded in 2018 and headquartered in Northampton, Massachusetts, our organization leads a national movement to bring accessible, trauma-responsive, and culturally-rooted group mental health support to diverse communities. Our innovative GPS model combines evidence-based therapeutic modalities - including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction - with the authentic power of peer connection.

What sets GPS apart is our commitment to placing mental health care directly in the hands of communities. We train everyone from clergy and lay leaders to peer specialists and clinical providers, creating a ripple effect of support that reaches those who need it most. Our approach destigmatizes and depathologizes mental health care, respecting the unique backgrounds and real-life experiences of participants. Whether through our MASStrong program for healthcare workers, GPS for Recovery, or specialized groups for veterans, refugees, parents, and LGBTQ+ communities, we create spaces where people feel seen, heard, and supported. With 90% of participants finding GPS groups helpful and 97% saying they'd recommend us to others, the impact is clear: when we lift one another, we rise together.
