The Opportunity

We are seeking a hands-on Head of Data to own the definition, acquisition, and execution of our data strategy. This is a unique hybrid role that requires equal parts business strategy, client diplomacy, and technical engineering.

Your primary mandate—starting with one critical mission—is to Enhance our Value Story. Gozio generates substantial engagement, and we are ready to take our ROI narrative to the next level by combining our rich proprietary data with the clinical and operational insights of our partners to create a comprehensive, unified view of success.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with the Strategy team to refine the key metrics that prove ROI to hospital executives (e.g., reduced missed appointments, increased portal adoption, downstream revenue).
  2. You will inherit a modern stack—Snowflake, dbt, and Looker—and take full ownership of its evolution. You aren't just managing; you are building and architecting the systems that turn raw data into undeniable ROI narratives.
  3. Translate complex datasets into compelling, executive-level dashboards and narratives that Sales and Customer Success teams will use to demonstrate value.
  4. Collaborate with health system clients to securely incorporate their operational data with our engagement metrics. You will be the bridge that unites our proprietary data with client insights.
  5. Design secure, scalable methods for ingesting client data into the Gozio data warehouse to complete the ROI picture.
  6. Partner with the Product team to define what we measure, then take ownership of the implementation process to turn those concepts into reality.
  7. Own the definition of 'truth' for product data. Ensure that implementation of tracking events is correct and consistent across iOS, Android, and Web platforms.

Technical Stack & Skills

  • We utilize Snowflake, dbt, and Looker. You should be an well versed in these (or in very similar products) and be ready to define their future evolution.
  • Strong SQL proficiency and experience building data models and transformation pipelines (ELT/ETL).
  • Ability to build intuitive, high-impact dashboards and visualizations (Looker, Tableau, etc.).

Requirements

  • 5+ Years of Data Experience: Proven track record in data engineering, analytics, or data science, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role.
  • Player-Coach Mentality: You must be willing to roll up your sleeves and write code/queries. This is a builder role, not just a manager role.
  • Client-Facing Experience: Comfortable joining calls with hospital CIOs/CTOs to discuss data security, governance, and access.
  • Strategic Mindset: Ability to understand our business case and align data efforts with revenue goals.
  • Healthcare Experience: Deep understanding of healthcare workflows and data; privacy regulations (HIPAA) a strong plus.
