GivePower’s SVP of Philanthropy will manage all facets of the organization’s fundraising activities. The optimal candidate has leadership experience and demonstrable success in securing donations for a nonprofit entity. Identify donor prospects and build fruitful relationships with corporate, nonprofit, institutional and individual donors. In leading GivePower’s marketing efforts, this SVP will help translate the powerful impact we create around the world into articulate and engaging assets that generate contributions. Work very closely with other senior leaders to ensure our brand awareness and consistency is maximized. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the VP of Corporate Partnerships to assist in creating and retaining strong relationships with new and existing donors.
- Manage the VP of Strategic Partnerships to identify and win grants.
- Personally identify and secure donations from high-net-worth donors.
- Create and implement GivePower’s marketing strategy with in-house and independent contract talent – emphasis on presentation creation, website development, social media and email marketing.
- Identify and execute public relations communications in partnership with external resources.
- Partner with leadership team members and vendors to support GivePower’s participation in trade shows, speaking engagements, etc.
- Ensure proper preapprovals are secured from relevant stakeholders within legal, program management and executive levels.
- Prepare project execution plans that outline and meet deadlines.
- Set and maintain department goals and priorities, reprioritizing and tracking as appropriate.
- Complete additional tasks, as needed.
Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience with demonstrable success in achieving $10m+ annually in nonprofit or startup fundraising.
- Proven record in identifying and securing significant grants ($500K+) by personally crafting engaging narratives, distilling complex concepts into applications and driving multi-department participation on submissions.
- Exceptional skills in PowerPoint, Word and Excel; Slack and Salesforce CRM a plus
- Strong work ethic with demonstrated ability to be productive in a remote work environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining focus on key priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work successfully within a highly collaborative team.
- Demonstrated command of nonprofit marketing strategies.
- Positive attitude with professional, engaging demeanor and mature sense of discretion.
