Why does this role exist?This role exists to own complex Google Tag Manager (GTM) event tracking, streamline data scraping, and automate repetitive data workflows that currently slow down the PPC/Search team and the CEO. The objective is to deliver accurate, reliable tracking and clean, structured data outputs so the team can move faster and make sharper, data-driven decisions. By centralizing technical marketing and automation, this hire will increase accuracy, reduce manual effort, and improve reporting across platforms.
The Impact you’ll make
- Build, deploy, and maintain custom GTM tags, triggers, and variables for advanced event tracking
- Configure GA4 events/conversions and ensure correct data layer usage
- QA and debug with GTM Preview/Tag Assistant; document implementations and change logs
Data Scraping and Structuring
- Scrape data from social media and targeted online sources per SOPs and client needs
- Clean, normalize, de-duplicate, and format datasets into company templates
- Maintain scraping schedules/tools and ensure compliant, reliable collection
AI-Powered Automations and Data Extraction
- Use Pattern, ChatGPT, Gemini, and internal scrapers to automate email/onsite data extraction into Google Sheets
- Build repeatable workflows that reduce manual copy/paste and transform data at scale
- Create light scripts (e.g., JavaScript/Apps Script) to expedite ETL-type tasks
CRM and Platform Integrations
- Support integrations between GA4, CRMs, ad platforms, and spreadsheets
- Configure webhooks/API, no-code automation, or Apps Script to move data between systems
- Monitor pipelines, troubleshoot discrepancies, and maintain data integrity
Reporting, Collaboration, and Process Optimization
- Assist the CEO with data formatting, spreadsheet optimization, and dashboard improvements
- Partner with the PPC/Search team to prioritize tracking requests and automation backlogs
- Document SOPs, communicate updates via Slack/Email, and complete a client assessment if provided
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Proven, hands-on GTM expertise building custom tags, triggers, and variables (moderate to strong; not entry-level)
- Working knowledge of JavaScript and HTML for tagging and light scripting
- Demonstrated experience with data scraping, cleaning, and structuring into templates
- Proficiency with Google Sheets (formulas, lookups, data organization) and comfort with GA4/CRM/ad platform integrations
- Full-time availability Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM EST

- Headset with an extended mic that has noise cancellation and a webcam

- Technical: GTM/GA4, data layers, regex, DOM events; Google Sheets power user; familiarity with webhooks/APIs; comfort with AI tools (Pattern, ChatGPT, Gemini) and internal scrapers; light JavaScript/Apps Script
- Operational: Strong QA mindset, documentation-first, able to follow and improve SOPs, excellent task prioritization
- Collaborative: Clear communicator, responsive in Slack/Email, comfortable partnering with PPC and executive stakeholders
- Problem-solving: Resourceful, automation-minded, and driven to reduce repetitive work with scalable workflows
- You love building clean, dependable tracking and turning messy data into decision-ready outputs
