As a Data Engineer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of
IRS - Unified Application Programming Interface (UAPI)
. You will play a crucial role in leading data pipeline projects and mentoring junior engineers.
● Lead/Manage/Support building and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines using tools like Apache Airflow, Spark, dbt, Kafka, Databricks, or Flink.
● Collaborate with IRS and Treasury Department Information Technology personnel.
● Drive modernization of APIs that provide data access that replace legacy command codes while ensuring secure, validated, and scalable integration.
● Utilize SQL, Python or Scala, and working with data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and data lakes (e.g., Delta Lake, Lakehouse architecture), Apache Airflow, Spark, dbt, Kafka, Databricks, or Flink.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

● Education: Bachelor of Science
● Experience: 3+ years of related experience
● Technical skills: SQL, Python or Scala, and working with data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and data lakes (e.g., Delta Lake, Lakehouse architecture), Apache Airflow, Spark, dbt, Kafka, Databricks, or Flink
● Security clearance level: Minimum Background Investigation
● US citizenship required
● Role requirements: : 3–5+ years in data engineering or backend data systems, with experience leading data pipeline projects and mentoring junior engineers
