About GCI Careers
Learn more about GCI Careers and their company culture.
We're Alaska's largest telecommunications provider, and for over 40 years, we've been driven by a single mission: to connect our neighbors, no matter where they live. Founded in 1979 by Ron Duncan and Bob Walp, we started as a small long-distance provider and have grown into a comprehensive technology leader, delivering internet, mobile, TV, and voice services to some of the most remote communities in North America. We believe that every Alaskan deserves access to the same high-quality connectivity as the rest of the world, which is why we've invested more than $4 billion in our statewide network.
Our team of nearly 2,000 employees is the heart of our company. We call ourselves 'Trailblazers' because we tackle challenges that others deem impossible, from laying subsea fiber optics to building microwave towers on mountain peaks. We're proud to foster a remote-first culture that empowers our people to work where they're most productive, while still maintaining a strong sense of community through shared success and a commitment to giving back. Whether we're launching 5G in the Arctic or supporting local non-profits, we're dedicated to building a better future for Alaska.
