The Business Development Manager – US Wholesale collaborates with Little Giant sales teams to achieve strategic sales goals across existing accounts while identifying and securing new business opportunities within the U.S. wholesale market. This role is responsible for driving growth of P/HVAC product sales by supporting internal and external stakeholders through product training, application expertise, and sales enablement, while partnering closely with manufacturing. The position engages key industry influencers—including wholesale distributors, national accounts, contractors/installers, equipment manufacturers, and industry associations—and works cross-functionally with Business Unit Sales Managers, independent sales partners, and customers to expand market presence, strengthen relationships, and deliver sustained sales growth.

MOVE FORWARD WITH US

Preference will be given to candidates located in the Midwest region.
What you will be doing:
  • Develop relationships with industry influencers. Including but not limited to; P/HVAC wholesale distributors, national accounts, contractor/installers, equipment manufacturers and industry associations.
  • Develops and establishes relationships with sales team and current distribution channels.
  • Spearhead new product introductions at the wholesale distributor, national accounts and contractor/installer level.
  • Works with Product Management to develop products that will grow sales and profitability. Provides feedback to product managers/engineers to meet customer needs.
  • Identifies new opportunities.
  • Trains sales team, distribution partners and contractor/installers on P/HVAC products.
  • Develops relationships with and completes sales with assigned regional and national customer bases. Converts non-customers into customers.
  • Coordinates and attends industry tradeshows, both national and regional shows.
  • Maintains and grows existing customer accounts through an appropriate level of contact. Creates sales growth by securing business through strategic customer segments.
  • Develops relationships with and completes sales with assigned regional and national customer bases. Converts non-customers into customers.
  • Maintains existing contact with regional and national decision makers to ensure their specifications remain with Franklin Electric – Little Giant Pumps.
  • Participates in pricing negotiations and purchasing agreements.
  • Implements a sales tracker to monitor progress on new product launches.
  • Develops short- and long-term forecasts, budgets, strategies, and marketing programs required to meet sales objectives.
  • Contracts with third party representatives to achieve sales goals as necessary.
  • Works with the marketing team to ensure marketing such as collateral, packaging, catalogs, Internet presence, etc., meets customer demand.
  • The ability to travel 70% of the time.

What you need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, business management, engineering technology, or a related field (preferred).
  • Seven to ten years of relevant experience in sales, marketing, product management, or a related field (required).
  • Microsoft Office suite, CRM (Intermediate Skill Level)
Skills and Abilities
  • Effectively communicates information and responds to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, the general public, and other employees of the organization.
  • Knows accounting principles and demonstrates solid math skills.
  • Maintains confidentiality and uses discretion with business information.
  • Reads and understands documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Writes routine reports and correspondence.
  • Utilizes common-sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
  • Deals with problems involving several known variables in situations of routine nature.
  • Plans the time, method, manner, and/or performance sequence of own work; may also occasionally assist in planning work assignments performed by others within a limited area of operation.
  • Frequently makes decisions of both minor and major importance, which may affect the work operations of other employees and/or clientele to a moderate degree.
  • Completes some moderately repetitive tasks.
  • Use noncomplex machines and equipment (adding machines, calculators, copy/fax machines, etc.).
  • Self-starting hunter.
  • Consultative sales skills
