About the role

As the Staff Multiplayer Engineer, you will play an important role designing and building multiplayer tech for games that will last for years, collaborating and exchanging knowledge with multiple teams of talented and multidisciplinary developers. You will assist in scope definition, planning, work estimation and tracking; create and evaluate technical documents and processes to ensure the highest quality product.

What you’ll achieve

  • Develop and maintain an efficient, scalable, and extensible netcode that will run on our game clients and game server, covering everything from lag compensation and client-side prediction to game object replication.
  • Create and review technical design documents for multiplayer game features, providing architectural direction.
  • Collaborate with game designers and other engineering teams to integrate network features seamlessly into gameplay mechanics and systems.

What you’ll need to be successful

  • Experience developing mobile games with Unity3D
  • Proven track record as a network programmer or similar for a multiplayer game that has shipped.
  • An in-depth understanding of game networking models, network protocols, socket programming, and real-time communication technologies and strategies.
  • Experience with network profiling, debugging and optimization tools to enhance network performance.
  • Strong proficiency in C#, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and design patterns, with a focus on SOLID principles.
  • Strict adherence to developing with unit and integration testing in mind
  • High-energy, hands-on individual with attention to detail and comfortable in an agile environment.
  • Must be proactive, self-directed, and organized.
  • Management skills, including capacity to provide feedback to and help direct the multiplayer systems programmers.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
