As a Private Credit Portfolio and NAV Governance SME you will strengthen valuation governance and portfolio monitoring across direct lending and opportunistic credit and specialty finance. You will tighten ASC 820 fair value controls for Level 3 assets, improve NAV close accuracy and timeliness, and enhance covenant and borrower reporting discipline with audit ready evidence.
Requirements
7 to 12 years in private credit or valuation or fund accounting with direct lending exposure
Mastery of ASC 820 fair value policy and calibration and model inputs and discounts and waterfalls
Experience with valuation committees and third party valuation providers and audit support
Strong portfolio monitoring background covenant tracking and borrower KPI packs and compliance certificates and collateral audits and non accrual process
Familiarity with NAV close and fund admin workflows fee and carry calculations and side letters and investor reporting
Data and tools Excel power user SQL basics one BI platform such as Power BI or Tableau fund admin systems such as Investran or eFront or Allvue or Black Mountain
Clear writing and presentation for investment committee and auditors
Responsibilities
Refresh valuation policy and procedures and documentation templates aligned to ASC 820
Stand up a price challenge and calibration process transaction comps and trading comps and income approaches with sensitivity and backtesting
Build portfolio monitoring dashboards covenants and borrowing base and risk ratings and watchlist and early warning signals
Tighten NAV close controls tie outs and waterfalls and capital activity and fee accruals and carried interest and investor allocations
Coordinate with fund admin and auditors and third party valuation firms to resolve variances and RFIs
Design evidence rooms memos and models and inputs and approvals and change logs for each quarter close
Coach deal teams on borrower data packs and business reviews and amendment playbooks
Outcomes we track
Quarter end NAV delivered 100% on schedule with reconciliation breaks under 0.5% of NAV
Valuation memo completeness at 100% with clear calibration and sensitivity per asset
Audit and RFI items closed 100% on time with zero repeat findings
Borrower covenant exceptions reduced 20% in 2 quarters with earlier interventions
Watchlist transparency improved with monthly risk scorecards across 100% of assets
Compensation and terms
Consultant pay $70 to $200 per hour based on product mix and platform depth
Contract Remote US W2 or 1099
Multiple openings for a national bench and pod builds
