Job Summary
This position supports the modeling required for various corporate reporting metrics including the support of the actuarial opinion, Multi Year Plan, economic capital, ALM, and stress testing.
Organization
This position reports to the AVP, Actuarial Asset Liability Modeling.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Generate actuarial projections using AXIS modeling software.
- Performs the production of standard actuarial projections including those used for CFT, RBC and ALM analysis.
- Assist in developing appropriate methodologies for stress testing.
- Design and maintain appropriate controls for AXIS models and reports.
- Analyze model output, identify key drivers, and communicate results to senior leadership.
- Validate implementation of AXIS model updates.
- Provide sign off for AXIS Plan model changes and perform change management testing.
- Assist in the annual business planning process including sensitives, analysis, and narrative requirements.
Experience and Education Requirements
- Bachelor degree and 5+ years of related actuarial experience
- Near FSA to FSA
- Experience with general account insurance products, indexed products, life insurance accounting, and asset modeling. Knowledge of pension risk transfer a plus.
- Intermediate knowledge and experience with AXIS or similar actuarial modeling system.
- Knowledge of industry best practices/methodologies.
- Sound knowledge of business and technical operations preferred.
- Some prior management experience valued.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong mathematical and programming skills
- Experience with regression modeling
- Knowledge of Statutory, GAAP, and Tax accounting
- Knowledge of general account insurance products
- Good communication and conflict resolution skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Self starter who can develop policies, procedures and processes
- Problem analysis and problem resolution at a functional level required
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities required
- Willing to challenge the status quo
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

- Some travel may be required (less than 10%)
