Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing expert product advice/support in the process of executing new products or any enhancements to existing products. This position is also responsible for maintaining a thorough understanding of life and annuity products, business platforms, and providing ongoing support of retail projects and initiatives. Responsibilities are inclusive of product training, development of product supporting checking tools and administrative system verification to ensure product integrity is achieved.

This position will be part of the Retail Operations Distribution Implementation Team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Under minimal supervision utilize product configuration tools to setup new products and make changes to existing products
  • Develop testing plans utilizing internal documentation such as product specs and specimen contracts to assure all relevant features are validated
  • Complete testing of the product and product features on illustration platforms and sales tools
  • Assist with the crafting of UI and Output BRDs
  • Under supervision assist in development of illustration software spec and BRD documentation
  • Under supervision assist in development of checking tools & calculators used to support product/riders
  • As workload permits – assist in validation in other areas (i.e. administration system, policy page print)
  • May periodically lead development on smaller projects

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required – Preferred in Mathematics, Actuarial Science or related technical field
  • Life insurance and annuity product knowledge is preferred with preference for Indexed UL and Fixed Indexed Annuity experience
  • Strong technical, analytical, organizational, computer, and team skills.
  • Experience in the financial services industry

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced production environment with moderate direction while addressing multiple projects and responsibilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Proficient with spreadsheet applications and working knowledge of Visual Basic or related applications.
  • Must be extremely detail oriented, analytical and be able handle multiple projects
  • Ability to proactively communicate and work with all groups in the organization
  • Team player with demonstrated ability to proactively identify issues
  • Team player with demonstrated ability to proactively identify issues and to influence key project decisions to achieve desired outcomes
  • Self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative and is able to operate efficiently in unpredictable and challenging project environments
  • Ability to interact with personnel at all levels of the organization in both technical and business areas successfully
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills

Other Requirements

  • Perform other functions, duties and projects as assigned
  • Regular and punctual attendance
  • Occasional travel may be required (less than 10%)
  • Typical professional office environment with periods of extended sitting required
