Role Summary

The Data Center Engineer will be responsible in design, implementation, support, and migration enterprise infrastructure across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments. This role focuses on virtualization, containerization, and automation to deliver secure, resilient, and scalable infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver billable professional services engagements across hybrid data center, virtualization, and cloud environments
  • Execute implementation, migration, upgrade, and modernization projects for enterprise clients
  • Deploy and support VMware, hyperconverged, storage, and Kubernetes platforms
  • Lead technical workstreams during project lifecycle phases (plan, design, implement, optimize, document)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues across compute, storage, and data center networking domains
  • Develop client-facing deliverables including implementation documentation, cutover plans, validation reports, and knowledge transfer materials
  • Provide regular engagement status updates to project managers and client stakeholders
  • Ensure solutions are deployed according to scope, best practices, and performance expectations
  • Contribute to repeatable delivery methodologies, standards, and service offerings
  • Desire and commitment to achieve and maintain vendor and industry related certifications

Requirements

  • 8–10+ years of experience in enterprise storage, virtualization, and data center technologies
  • Strong hands-on experience with compute, storage, hyperconverged, and virtualization platforms
  • VMware vSphere experience
  • Must have at least two of the following: Nutanix, Cisco UCS, NetApp, and/or Pure Storage
  • Familiarity with Converged Infrastructure solutions and reference architectures for virtualization, storage, data protection, enterprise backup and/or disaster recovery solutions
  • Working knowledge of Layer 2/Layer 3 and storage networking infrastructure
  • Ability to travel 25-30%

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience delivering solutions in customer-facing, project-based environments
  • Experience with VCF, VMWare vSAN, NSX, HCX, SRM/VLR, vROPs/Aria suite
  • Experience with containerization, automation tools, programming and/or scripting languages
  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure (Azure, AWS, GCP, OCP)
  • VMware certifications preferred: VMware VCF Platform Professional/Expert Implement/Architect, or VCF Knight

Education

Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent work-related experience.

Relevant and current vendor certifications a plus
