About the role and what you will be doing:

Ensono is seeking a seasoned Mainframe Systems Programmer to join our Global Technology Services team. This role is pivotal in supporting ongoing projects involving the installation, testing, and implementation of new operating systems and system software. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a passion for mentoring others while driving innovation and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities:

• Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in mainframe systems programming.
• Lead and own high- and moderate-complexity technical assignments.
• Provide oversight and review for low-complexity tasks.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) or specialist in mainframe systems.
• Deliver technical architecture support for hardware and software solutions.
• Collaborate with hardware/software vendors to develop and implement new solutions.
• Participate in client meetings and contribute to new business proposals.
• Analyze client software environments to recommend cost-effective, standardized solutions.
• Design and implement automated monitoring techniques for proactive issue identification.
• Document problem analysis, resolution strategies, and best practice procedures.
• Mentor junior associates and enhance team performance through guidance and leadership.

Preferred:

• Proven ability to perform complex ISV installations.
• Demonstrated success in leading complex projects.
• Strong mentoring and leadership skills.
• Functional knowledge of z/OS components and support products (e.g., tape management, scheduling, security, monitoring systems).
