As a Lead Full Stack Developer (Python & Angular) at Emergn you will work across both the Angular frontend and Python backend of our core product, guiding technical direction and mentoring the team within our cross-functional delivery structure.

We want you to:

  • Facilitate technical decision-making and encourage consistent approaches across the team.
  • Provide mentoring and support to more junior team members, helping them grow.
  • Take ownership of complex features and architectural decisions, from design through to deployment and support.
  • Support effective communication between the team and wider stakeholders, including regular progress updates.
  • Lead code reviews and pair programming sessions to maintain code quality and share knowledge.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and quality within the team.
  • Support incident response efforts in line with the Incident Response Policy.

This job might be for you if you have:

  • 7+ years of commercial experience in either Angular or Python, with strong commercial experience in the other technology.
  • A track record of designing and building REST APIs and modern web applications at scale.
  • Deep, up-to-date knowledge of the latest Angular versions and modern Python frameworks such as Flask or FastAPI.
  • Fluent in Git, with strong experience working with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience mentoring developers and facilitating technical discussions within a team.
  • A pragmatic approach to problem-solving and delivery, balancing technical considerations against customer demands for rapid feature delivery.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional team, with the ability to quickly build relationships across disciplines.

You might also have:
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience working within SOX-controlled environments.
  • Familiarity with tools like NgRx, RxJS, or Ionic.
  • Experience shaping or evolving team structures and ways of working.

Location requirement:
  • This position is remote-based in Portugal.
