CTO Performa

EMCD is a leading technology company in the crypto industry, best known as the largest mining pool in Eastern Europe. We are expanding globally and building a comprehensive ecosystem of crypto services, including payment infrastructure, custody solutions, mining services, and enterprise-grade tools for businesses and institutions.

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Performa, a neo-bank initiative. This is a strategic leadership role where you will define and execute the technical vision, scale high-performance systems, and ensure that technology drives both product excellence and business outcomes. You will lead engineering teams, shape the technical culture, and collaborate closely with product, compliance, and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and implement the technical strategy for Performa, ensuring it aligns with the broader business vision and regulatory requirements.
• Design and scale a high-performance processing platform capable of handling complex payment and crypto transactions.
• Architect and implement integrations with banks, PSPs, crypto processors, and KYC/AML providers to deliver seamless and secure services.
• Build a high-load, secure, and resilient infrastructure while implementing best practices in DevOps, CI/CD, monitoring, and analytics.
• Lead development, DevOps, and QA teams, fostering collaboration across cross-functional teams and promoting a culture of quality, autonomy, and transparency.
• Plan and manage the technical budget, controlling technology-related expenses while prioritizing strategic investments.
• Develop internal engineering standards for code review, documentation, and best practices, ensuring operational excellence across the organization.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a technology leader, preferably in fintech or crypto-related projects, with a track record of building payment and processing systems from scratch.
• Deep understanding of crypto-fiat architectures, payment routing, API integrations, and transaction reconciliation.
• Hands-on experience with bank, crypto gateway, and AML/KYC provider integrations.
• Strong knowledge of security principles, including PCI DSS, ISO 27001, data protection, and anti-fraud mechanisms.
• Experience managing distributed engineering teams and fostering a high-performing technical culture.
• Ability to think strategically and make product and technology decisions with a focus on user experience and business impact.

Tasks

• Drive the end-to-end technical execution of Performa, ensuring scalable, secure, and reliable systems.
• Collaborate with product and compliance teams to meet regulatory and business requirements.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve system efficiency, security, and scalability.
• Mentor engineering teams, promoting skill development, ownership, and best practices.
• Ensure robust monitoring, analytics, and operational standards across the technology stack.
