Elasticsearch - Engineering Manager - Query Languages, Vector Database

Elastic is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a globally distributed team of Java engineers working on advancing ES|QL and enabling adoption by other teams and customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, mentoring, and leading the team, as well as fostering a culture of mutual respect, collaboration, and consensus-based decision-making.

Requirements

• Experience leading distributed teams of software engineers
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to drive conversations across multiple teams to a conclusion
• Previous experience working with stakeholders outside of Engineering
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently
