The Dussmann Group's story began in 1963, when Peter Dussmann founded a modest home cleaning company in Munich. This was the seed from which a global enterprise would sprout. The early years were marked by rapid expansion, and by 1969, the workforce had grown from a mere 10 individuals to a thousand. This period also saw the company venture beyond German borders and secure its first hospital cleaning contract, a significant step in diversifying its service portfolio. The 1970s witnessed a pivotal transformation as Dussmann evolved into a multi-service provider. In 1978, the company broadened its offerings to include catering, housekeeping, and security services, laying the groundwork for its future as an integrated facilities management giant.

The 1980s brought further diversification and growth. In 1984, Dussmann Office was established, marking the company's entry into the office services market. This was swiftly followed by the opening of the first Kursana Residenz facilities for the elderly in 1985, signifying a commitment to social care. A landmark moment arrived in 1997 with the opening of Dussmann das KulturKaufhaus in Berlin, Germany's largest media department store, showcasing Peter Dussmann's innovative spirit and customer-centric approach. By the year 2000, under Peter Dussmann's leadership, the Group had solidified its position as Germany's leading multi-service provider. The new millennium saw continued expansion, including a prestigious catering contract with the German parliament in 2001 and significant growth in the Kursana division. In 2011, Dussmann KulturKindergarten was established, offering in-house corporate childcare facilities. Today, led by Catherine von Fürstenberg-Dussmann as Chairperson of the Board of Trustees and Wolf-Dieter Adlhoch as CEO, the Dussmann Group operates in 21 countries with approximately 68,200 employees, offering a comprehensive suite of services encompassing facility management, food services, technical solutions, elderly care, and childcare, all while upholding the founding principles of innovation, customer focus, and responsibility.
