Docker is a remote first company with employees across Europe, APAC and the Americas that simplifies the lives of developers who are making world-changing apps. We raised our Series C funding in March 2022 for $105M at a $2.1B valuation. We continued to see exponential revenue growth last year. Join us for a whale of a ride!

We’re seeking an experienced technical Product Marketing Manager for our products. As our resident market expert in the developer tools domain, you will play a crucial role in shaping our product marketing strategies and enabling our sales teams by providing deep insights into market trends, competitor strategies, and customer needs within the developer tools ecosystem.

Your work will directly influence product development and go-to-market strategies and ensure our product positioning is compelling, differentiated, and effectively communicated to our target audiences.

Key Responsibilities

Competitive Intelligence: Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats. Develop a comprehensive understanding of competitor products, pricing, marketing strategies, and sales tactics. Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders on market developments and recommend strategic responses.

Content Development: Craft compelling messaging and positioning documents that differentiate our products in the market. Develop a range of marketing materials, including white papers, case studies, blog posts, and sales enablement tools, that articulate the value proposition of our solutions.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product management, sales, and marketing teams to communicate competitive insights and develop strategies that effectively counter competitive threats. Provide training and support to sales teams, equipping them with the knowledge and tools to compete in the marketplace effectively.

Win/Loss Interviews: Conduct win/loss interviews with customers and prospects to gather insights on our competitive positioning, product strengths and weaknesses, and market opportunities for improvement. Utilize findings to inform and refine marketing and product strategies.

Performance Measurement: Monitor and report on the effectiveness of competitive strategies, making recommendations for continuous improvement.

Skills & Experience

• 4+ years of experience in product marketing, competitive intelligence, or a similar role within the B2B SaaS, developer tools, or technology sector; or 3+ years of relevant experience in management consulting

• Love for and success in a fast-growth scale-up environment characterized by controlled chaos (sometimes characterized as imperfect information, quickly-changing user markets, and limited structure)

• Effective communication skills–you can adjust how you communicate depending on who you are speaking with and what you need to say

• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and persuasively.

• Thrive in cross-functional environments and can effectively collaborate with various stakeholders and teams.

• Are incredibly organized and efficient—you take on complex projects and own them from start to finish

• Experience with one or more developer technologies in cloud or Data analytics skills with SQL and Tableau is a plus.

Who You Will Be Working With:

You’ll be part of the Product Marketing team, reporting to the VP of Product Marketing. In addition to your marketing partners, you’ll work closely with product management, engineering, research, RevOps, and sales teams across the company.

In the First 30 days, You Will:

  • Observe – get to know our product, team, customers, product launch process, and ways of working together.

  • Orient to current target markets/personas, current product direction, and resulting metrics.

  • Compile early observations about areas for experimentation and iteration.

Within 60 Days, You Will:

  • Own and execute 2 competitive reviews and build an informed set of core assets

After 90 Days:

  • Develop a campaign that identifies product benefits over competitors (including DIY or home-grown solutions) and launch that campaign in the market
