Job Summary
The Billing Associate is responsible for a variety of tasks requiring data analysis, in-depth evaluation, and sound judgement. As a Billing Specialist, your daily duties may include submitting medical billing claims, appealing denied claims, and posting reimbursement payment from payers. This position requires the ability to problem solve and work on multiple tasks at the same time.
Responsibilities:
- Follow up on patients uninsured, underinsured, and patients receiving insurance reimbursement.
- Making contractual adjustments to patient accounts.
- Monitoring patients accounts who have received reimbursement for CRMS services.
- Identifying and billing secondary or tertiary insurances.
- Must possessknowledge of insurance lines of business.
- Ensure the patient’s demographic information is accurate and up to date.
- Work with personal information and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Handle and answer all patient or insurance telephone inquiries.
- Other tasks as assigned
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in handling insurance and patient billing
- Must have strong knowledge of insurance plans.
- Solid understanding of billing software and electronic medical records.
- Must have the ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Outstanding problem-solving and organizational abilities
- Should be comfortable to be a part of the team and work in a team environment
- Comfortable working in a remote position.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Remote office work with prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Viewing monitors for long periods of time which may cause eye strain.
- Freedom to get up and move from workspace area as needed.
