GCP Cloud Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled GCP Backend / Cloud Engineer to join our fast-moving, cross-functional engineering squads. The ideal candidate has deep hands-on expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), strong backend development skills in Python, and the ability to design, build, and optimize cloud-native solutions in a dynamic, high-velocity environment. This role requires strong communication skills, autonomy, and the ability to collaborate within mixed teams while quickly adapting to new projects and evolving priorities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy backend services and cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform.
• Build and maintain scalable architectures using Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, and other GCP services.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-tested Python code for backend systems and cloud integrations.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, ensuring high code quality and continuous deployment reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional squads, including frontend, product, DevOps, and data teams, to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Monitor system performance, perform debugging, and optimize cloud resources for scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Adapt quickly between projects and contribute to both ongoing initiatives and new technical challenges.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical teammates, ensuring clarity, alignment, and transparency.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience working with GCP in production environments.

• Strong proficiency with Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, and related GCP services.
• Advanced backend development experience with Python (APIs, microservices, automation, cloud integrations).
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps workflows, and modern software delivery practices.
• Experience working in fast-paced squads and highly collaborative product teams.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to integrate quickly into mixed and distributed teams.
• Proactive, independent mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to switch between multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities.
• Fluent English (written and spoken).
