DevOps Engineer

Role Overview
We are looking for a Freelance DevOps Engineer to join a large-scale telecommunications project within a Digital Factory environment. The role focuses on modernizing core systems by transitioning from legacy platforms to scalable microservices architectures, ensuring high availability and performance at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments
• Support development teams with application deployment on cloud and container platforms (AWS, Kubernetes/OpenShift)
• Ensure reliable, automated deployments from development to production
• Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to improve delivery speed and system reliability
• Implement DevOps best practices (Infrastructure as Code, monitoring, logging)
• Manage and optimize containerized applications and microservices architectures
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure scalability and availability
• Contribute to platform services setup, including configuration and secrets management
• Drive continuous improvement in automation and deployment processes
• Support incident management, root cause analysis, and preventive actions

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role
• Strong experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git-based pipelines)
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift
• Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms
• Good understanding of microservices architectures
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Grafana, Elasticsearch)
• Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Fluent German (mandatory) and strong English communication skills
• Ability to work in agile, cross-functional teams
