We’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our ever-growing Engineering team, based in Manila, Philippines.

This role will focus primarily on maintaining and optimising our SaaS platform, ensuring performance, scalability, and stability. You’ll collaborate with product and design teams to understand business requirements, troubleshoot issues, and translate them into technical solutions.

The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in PHP 8+, Laravel, MySQL, jQuery, and modern JavaScript frameworks, with strong problem-solving abilities and experience working across both frontend and backend components.

Day in the Life

• Maintain and optimise our modern microservices-based SaaS applications (PHP 8+, Laravel, MySQL, jQuery, modern JS frameworks).

• Troubleshoot and fix bugs across the full stack (frontend and backend).

• Debug issues and ensure system performance, scalability, and reliability.

• Collaborate with Product and Design teams to clarify requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.

• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code for bug fixes, enhancements, and technical improvements.

• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.

• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices and processes.

• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance where needed.

What You Bring to the Team

• Strong experience in full stack web development, particularly maintaining and optimising data-driven products.

• Deep knowledge of PHP 8+, Laravel, MySQL, jQuery, and modern JavaScript frameworks.

• Experience with microservices and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes).

• Ability to troubleshoot efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong debugging and optimisation skills, with a commitment to platform stability.

• Previous experience writing unit and integration tests within a Laravel framework.

• Familiarity with agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical work clearly to different stakeholders.

• A passion for code quality and staying up-to-date with technology trends.

• Comfortable demoing updates and bug fixes to cross-functional teams.

Additional Requirements

• Timezone flexibility: Must be comfortable working with some overlap with UK business hours (GMT/BST) to collaborate effectively with the majority of the team.

• Location: Must be legally eligible to work in the Philippines.

• Passport Requirement: Must hold a valid Philippine passport (for identity verification and compliance with Remote.com).

• Language: Must be fluent in English (written and spoken).

• Remote Work Setup: Reliable internet connection and a workspace that supports effective remote work.

• Cultural Fit: Comfortable collaborating with a primarily UK-based engineering team across time zones.
