Overview

Cotiviti is looking for a Director of Engineering within our payment Integrity and audit recovery business. In this role you will lead, direct, and manage the day-to-day operations of software engineers and data analysts. You will work closely with business leaders, enterprise data management, engineering and IT. You will manage all the operational aspects of the audit tool implementations and data analytics to ensure business and project objectives are met. You will provide administrative, technical, and people leadership for multiple, diverse, and geographically distributed teams. You are responsible for providing feedback to the team and individuals on their performance. You will coach and guide teams to enable future success.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for building, managing, scaling, and maturing a high-performing multi-group Engineering team with clear metrics, industry-standard engineering practices, and by fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for utilization, velocity, and optimization of the Engineering resources.
  • Manage the engineering design, specifications, analysis, development, rollout, and maintainability of the programs and projects in the roadmap and in the portfolio. Provide technical oversight while developing technical leadership within the team.
  • Ensure successful execution of technical strategies, architecture guidelines and standards by collaboration with other development teams: architecture, systems engineering, services engineering, and other teams.
  • Partner and collaborate with various cross functional teams like Product Management, Program Management, Infrastructure, Operations, and other business teams to produce customer value.
  • Lead the continuous improvement of software development and test processes through collaboration with peers and architects, including architectural reviews, security and compliance reviews, code reviews, quality gates, and the delivery pipeline.
  • Hire, develop, coach, lead and retain top-tier talent, with a focus on building and improving a team and culture that is able to assist in employing best in class practices to support and drive high levels of internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual performance review and/or goal setting.
  • Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's / Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 8+ years of professional industry experience and 3-5 years of experience in leading high-performance engineering teams as a manager.
  • 8+ years of technology experience in planning, designing, developing, delivering, and supporting software leveraging a combination of programming languages, ETL technologies (such as ODI, Microsoft SSIS), Relational Databases (Oracle, SQL Server), Java, J2EE, C#, ASP .NET, TSQL etc., with hands-on experience no older than 2 years.
  • Experience managing software development managers and teams of engineers, building enterprise SaaS products, successfully shipping code on time and with quality.
  • Experience managing software development teams distributed across multiple development centers including the management of off-shore development resources.
  • Leadership ability, demonstrated through previous experience developing, recruiting, and mentoring a top-notch technical engineering team.
  • Demonstrated understanding and support of Agile delivery model, preferably Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Ability to adopt and thrive in implementing engineering practices such as Test Automation, Test Driven Development and Continuous Delivery transforming legacy delivery practices.
  • Understanding of the operational concerns of SaaS, and the ability to work with the DevOps team to deploy systems with high availability and automated monitoring and alerting.
  • Problem solver; able to make routine decisions as well as sound complex decisions in a fast-paced, technical environment.
  • Capable of planning and executing on both short-term and long-term goals individually and with the team.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and follow up communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.

Base compensation ranges from $160,000 to $200,000 per year. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs. This role is eligible for discretionary bonus consideration.
