Carem Support Services, one of the Corus Health family of companies, is actively seeking a Billing Representative to join our team! This individual will be responsible for all revenue activities including, but not limited to, cash posting, billing, coordinating the reimbursement process, and maintaining compliance to all state and federal regulations while reporting directly to the Executive Director of Carem Support.   • Verifies preparation and timely submission of all PDGM and FFS Home Health claims to assure prompt payment and contractual compliance.
  • Monitors the processing of payments from insurance companies.
  • Access accounts on clearing houses, EMR and portals daily.
  • Assures that timely and accurate follow up aging activity is performed on all unpaid, underpaid, or overpaid insurance accounts, including Appeals and phone calls to insurance companies.
  • Coordinates all AR reporting and provides cash flow updates to Director of Reimbursement.
  • Attends monthly or bi-monthly A/R calls discussing the status of insurance accounts with balances.
  • Participates in educational activities and attends monthly staff meetings.
  • Works with Provider Reps at insurance companies as needed.
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.

Requirements

Skills & Qualifications:

      • Knowledge of insurance companies required.
      • Cash posting experience preferred.
      • Medical billing experience required; home health billing experience required for Sign on Bonus.
      • Knowledge of healthcare billing/collection practices preferred.
      • Experience in A/R follow-up for insurance claims is required, preferably Home Health or Hospice.
      • Knowledge of computer programs.
      • Knowledge of business office procedures to include a basic understanding of accounting.
      • Understanding of third-party operating procedures and practices.
      • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.
      • Must be well organized and detail-oriented.
      • Must be able to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
