About Conservation Legacy
At Conservation Legacy, we believe in the power of community-based conservation to transform both landscapes and lives. Founded in 1998, our national organization has spent over 25 years engaging youth, young adults, and veterans in meaningful conservation and service projects that create lasting impact in communities across America. We envision healthy lands, air, and water, thriving people, and resilient communities.
Our approach is rooted in partnership and local impact. Operating from 15 locations nationwide, we embed our programs in communities to meet on-the-ground conservation needs. Participants work on diverse projects including trail construction, habitat restoration, fire fuels reduction, watershed work, invasive species management, and historic preservation. Through our AmeriCorps programs, we develop future leaders by building skills, strength, and pathways to careers and education. Our Veterans Fire Corps specifically engages post-9/11 veterans in priority conservation work while developing the next generation of wildland firefighters.
We foster a culture of service, collaboration, and environmental stewardship. Our team works together across regional offices to deliver high-quality programming that serves both participants and communities. Whether someone is joining as a crew member, individual placement participant, or staff, they become part of a network dedicated to protecting and enhancing America's natural places. The work is challenging, rewarding, and makes a tangible difference in preserving our nation's lands for future generations.
