The story of Compass Government Solutions (CGS) is deeply rooted in the extensive and varied career of its founder, Tracy Balazs. Her journey began not in the world of government contracting, but on the front lines of healthcare as a clinical trauma nurse. For two decades, Tracy dedicated herself to this demanding field, gaining invaluable firsthand experience and a profound understanding of the intricacies of patient care and the healthcare system. This foundation in clinical practice would later become a cornerstone of her entrepreneurial ventures. In 2004, Tracy embarked on a new path, channeling her expertise into the world of business by founding Federal Staffing Resources (FSR). Under her leadership, FSR grew into an award-winning, 8(a) women-owned small business, earning recognition from prestigious bodies like the SBA and INC5000. The company successfully secured major federal government healthcare contracts, including the DHA MQS IDIQ, AF CLASS, and Navy MATOs, solidifying Tracy's reputation as a leader in the sector. After FSR was acquired in 2018, Tracy's entrepreneurial spirit remained undiminished.

In April 2021, this drive led to the creation of Compass Government Solutions. CGS was born from Tracy's vision to build an agile, mission-focused government contractor dedicated to supporting federal health, military readiness, and social and behavioral sciences programs. The company represents a continuation of her commitment to serving the nation, particularly its military members, veterans, and their families.
