CodiLime is a software and network engineering industry expert and the first-choice service partner for top global networking hardware providers, software providers and telecoms. The project and the team
We are looking for an engineer with a strong expertise in Linux and Python to join our client's team and help expand their custom system dedicated to software/firmware updates. Currently, the system automatically pushes updates to CPE (router) devices. The goal is to enable the system to push software updates to on-premises servers located in multiple points of presence (POP).
What else you should know:
- The team consists of less than 15 people, including an architect, project manager, backend developers, frontend developers, DevOps engineers.
- We use SCRUM/Agile methodology.
- Our tech stack for the project includes: Linux, Python, PostgreSQL, AWS
- The client is based in the US.
We work on multiple interesting projects at the time, so it may happen that we’ll invite you to the interview for another project, if we see that your competencies and profile are well suited for it.
Your role
As a part of the project team, you will be responsible for:
- Integrate on-prem servers with a proprietary system for update automation.
- Develop Python scripts and tools on AWS systems and on-prem servers.
- PostgreSQL database updates to support upgrades.
- Resolve Linux environment issues.
Do we have a match?
As a Mid/Senior engineer you must meet the following criteria:
- 5+ years of experience
- Deep Linux knowledge (with Bash scripting skills)
- Advanced programming skills in Python
- Hands on experience with large Linux-based environments
- Good command of English (B2 level)
Beyond the criteria above, we would appreciate the nice-to-haves:
- Solid knowledge of SQL
- Experience working with the AWS ecosystem
