Mission & Vision Statement

Our mission at Clarity is to:

  1. Be a trusted guide that helps millions of families to discover, plan for and access the best educational opportunities for their children.
  2. Help schools to adapt and operate like the dynamic businesses they must be in order to survive and best serve the families of the future.
  3. Build a company where people are able to do the best work of their careers and consistently solve complex problems in novel ways that create unique value in the world.

Responsibilities

As a Product Lead, you will work directly with the founders to build and launch a new, zero-to-one product, owning both the high-level strategy and the tactical execution required for success. Exceptional product leadership balances vision with a deep obsession for the details—because the product’s success hinges on managing those details exceptionally well during the build. You’ll think like a general manager, owning the bigger picture while immersing yourself in every nuance, cultivating strong customer relationships, collaborating across teams to drive business outcomes, and treating product results as the ultimate measure of your success. If successful, you’ll grow the team over time, but we believe great leaders are hyper-fluent in the details, and that’s where you’ll spend most of your time in the next couple of years.

As part of this role, you will:

  • Lead the discovery phase of Clarity’s new product, becoming an expert on customer needs, the competitive landscape, and the problem space.
  • Build relationships with customers and have multiple conversations per week with schools and families to gather insights, validate assumptions, and maintain a reliable evidence system for product decisions.
  • Align the product vision with Clarity’s broader strategy and long-term goals in collaboration with leadership.
  • Own key business outcomes, including revenue growth, customer satisfaction (e.g., NPS), and internal trust.
  • Partner with other Product Leads to ensure cohesive decision-making and a seamless user experience across Clarity products.
  • Serve as the central hub for product information, facilitating collaboration across Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales, Client Success, and Family Support.
  • Work closely with engineering to validate projects, support mid-build decisions, and ensure outcomes align with the product vision.
  • Write specifications and partner with design to create visuals for new features and enhancements.
  • Advocate for consistent product principles and design guidelines to uphold Clarity’s brand and deliver a world-class experience to customers.
  • Collaborate with go-to-market teams to align product strategy with business objectives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years leading complex, cross-functional products 0-1 in a fast paced environment.
  • Core competency in engaging directly with current and prospective customers.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with high functioning engineering and design teams.
  • Experience aligning product vision with company strategy to drive measurable business outcomes.
  • A history building and scaling products or businesses as a founder or entrepreneur is not required but highly valued.
  • Experience working on both B2B SaaS and direct to consumer products is not required but highly valued.

What great looks like

By 1 Week, you will have onboarded into Clarity’s mission, vision, product principles, and product process. You will have a developing understanding of the product ecosystem. You will have begun introducing yourself to your direct team, members of leadership, and customer facing teams.

At 1 Month, you will have had ~20 product discovery conversations with customers and prospects and established a regular weekly cadence to continue informing product decisions. You will have a clear understanding of the competitive landscape and problem space for the new product. You will have started drafting a product roadmap alongside your engineering and design partners. You’ll also understand the business outcomes you are accountable for and will be collaborating across the company to drive those results.

By 3 Months, you will have a well defined and transparent roadmap for the new product. You will have become a primary source of truth for the product’s vision & goals. You will be the owner of all major projects for the new product and will be prepared to deliver detailed product requirements to your build team. You will have established yourself as a trusted partner and representative of the new product to every other team at Clarity. You will be confidently recognized as the owner of your assigned business outcomes, leading multiple cross-functional projects to drive their achievement.

Why take this job?

  • You will operate with a high degree of autonomy and own a product function that’s tasked with building a world-class product for millions of families.
  • You will be working directly with the founders and other product leaders to build a new, zero to one product from the ground up.
  • You will work with an incredibly talented and dedicated team.
  • You will experience significant personal and professional growth.
  • You will be paid competitively, receive stock options and have a variety of other benefits, including 100% company-sponsored health, medical and dental insurance.
  • Clarity has grown from 0 to 60 employees in under 3 years and is poised to continue growing quickly.
  • Clarity has strong product market fit and extremely strong NPS (90+).
  • Clarity is uniquely positioned to change the landscape of education.
  • Clarity is a fully remote work environment, but also provides both team specific and all company sponsored on-sites every year.

At the heart of Clarity's mission is a profound commitment to transforming the often daunting financial aid landscape for K-12 private schools and the families they serve. Born from a clear understanding of the frustrations and complexities inherent in traditional financial aid processes, Clarity was established with the vision to guide, support, and empower. The company's culture is built upon the principle of being a trusted partner, one that helps millions of families discover, plan for, and ultimately access the best educational opportunities for their children. This dedication extends equally to educational institutions, with Clarity striving to help schools adapt and operate as the dynamic, modern entities they need to be to thrive and effectively serve the families of today and tomorrow.

Clarity fosters an environment where innovation and empathy converge. The team, many of whom bring extensive firsthand experience from working within schools, is driven by a collective desire to solve real-world problems. They believe in making financial aid a strategic advantage for schools, rather than an administrative hurdle. This is achieved by creating an experience for families that is refreshingly easy, intuitive, and stress-free, saving them valuable time and reducing anxiety. The 'Clarity Way' is more than just a set of services; it's a philosophy centered on automating cumbersome tasks like IRS tax verification, streamlining review processes, and providing unparalleled support. This approach ensures that both schools and families feel understood and well-cared for, fostering a sense of partnership and trust. The ultimate goal is to build a company where talented individuals can do the most fulfilling work of their careers, consistently solving complex challenges in ways that create unique and lasting value in the world of education.
