The College of Health Care Professions (CHCP) understands that many aspiring professionals face barriers when trying to enter the high-demand healthcare industry. Potential students, often working adults with complex lives, need flexible, efficient, and direct pathways to meaningful careers that offer economic mobility. They require more than just a degree; they need practical, hands-on training that makes them job-ready from day one. Recognizing this, CHCP was founded by physicians over 35 years ago to bridge the gap between education and employment, ensuring that the training provided directly meets the needs of healthcare employers.

To solve these challenges, CHCP has designed a unique educational model focused on student success and career outcomes. We offer a variety of stackable, career-centric programs—from certificates to associate's and bachelor's degrees—available through flexible on-campus, online, and hybrid formats. This allows our students to 'learn and earn,' starting with a short-term certificate program to quickly enter the workforce and then continuing their education without pausing their careers. Our curriculum is built around hands-on training in modern labs equipped with industry-standard technology. A critical component of our approach is the mandatory externship program, which places students with one of our 2,300+ employer partners across Texas. This real-world experience, combined with lifetime career services and dedicated student support from enrollment to graduation, ensures our graduates have the skills, confidence, and connections to not just find a job, but to build the career of their life.
