About Casey Family Programs

Casey Family Programs is the nation's largest operating foundation focused on safely reducing the need for foster care and building Communities of Hope for children and families across America. Founded in 1966, the foundation works in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and with tribal nations across North America to influence long-lasting improvements to the well-being of children, families, and the communities where they live. The organization provides strategic consulting, direct services, public policy resources, and research and analysis to support child welfare systems and leaders. Its mission is to provide and improve — and ultimately prevent the need for — foster care.

Casey Family Programs believes that every child deserves a safe, supportive, and permanent family, and that every family will thrive with the support of a caring community. The foundation is headquartered in Seattle, Washington, with offices in Arizona, California, Colorado, the District of Columbia, Georgia, Idaho, New York, and Texas. Led by President and CEO Dr. William C. Bell, the executive team works in the spirit of founder Jim Casey to improve the lives of America's children. The foundation draws on more than five decades of experience and expert research to provide high-quality services and support. The foundation's work is grounded in the belief that every community can create hope and opportunities for its children and families. By partnering with child welfare systems, policymakers, courts, and tribes, Casey Family Programs aims to create a nation where Communities of Hope provide the support and opportunities that children and families need to thrive.
