What You’ll Get to Do:
The Training Support Specialist (TSS) PTOC supports the 7th Army Training Command, Training Support Activity Europe (TSAE) to plan and execute training and exercise efforts for expeditionary, rotational, and contingency training across the U.S. European Command and U.S. Africa Command Areas of Responsibility. The TSS delivers full spectrum training support to units, which encompasses advising, and evaluating contract support provided to all phases of live fire and force-on-force training and exercise events to enhance readiness and increase interoperability of all assigned and attached U.S. forces, regionally aligned forces, multinational partners, and allies. The TSS collaborates extensively to facilitate effective coordination for support and successful execution of all phases of the training and exercise support cycles, including planning, preparation & setup, execution, recovery, and facility/ area closure and clearance. The TSS also provides subject matter expertise on major training support systems including but not limited to user and evaluator training, employment, mounting, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of these sophisticated systems.
More About this Role:
- Maintain continuous situational awareness of the designated Govt Rep Lead’s (GRL) intent, guidance, adjustments to schedule/requirements, applicable U.S. and Host Nation regulations/requirements specific to the range or training facility utilized.
- Immediately alert the GRL of any potential non-compliance with standards/constrains/restrictions related to training and exercises. Also relay to the GRL, in a timely manner, related inquires/requests for adjustments by Training Units/ end-users.
- Provide technical instruction to customer organizations as to the planning, deployment, operation, and maintenance, of major training and exercise support systems as directed
- Prepare and submit reports, inspection checklists and other required correspondence
- Synchronize work efforts with all relevant Range Operations support teams and range maintenance teams.
- Review range schedules and required tasks daily. Adjust work efforts based upon approved adjustments as directed
- Manage range resources to support scheduled range activities to include due care and basic property accountability.
- Ensure assigned facilities and equipment are operational, properly prepared, and staged in a condition to support training and exercises as required.
- Understand Surface Danger Zone diagrams for all weapon systems.
- Maintain continuous situational awareness and immediately notify government representatives of impending or actual encroachment of Surface Danger Zones during execution of all training and exercises.
- Provide feedback to TST Lead following each LFX or FoF training or exercise iteration, provide recommendations to improve training and exercise effectiveness.
- As directed, complete training, maintain records of training and operate a range of equipment consisting of, but not limited to range and warehouse equipment (Bobcats, Forklifts, Skid Steers, etc.) and as well as HUMMV and LMTV.
- Construct target pits and emplace target lifters, conduct test/function checks, and operate targets using Remote-Control Units.
- Perform the full range of operator level maintenance on assigned equipment and in place range training equipment; including repair, on-site troubleshooting, installation, removal, retrofit and preventative maintenance activities.
- Dispose of training and exercise waste products in accordance with mandated 7th ATC waste disposal procedures.
- Replenish training and exercise support expendables.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- Minimum of six years of experience as a Combat Arms (CA) or Combat Support (CS) NCO or Officer assigned to MTO&E CA or CS units requiring annual or semi-annual gunnery cycle METL requirements; OR
- Minimum eight years of experience, combining Combat Arms (CA) or Combat Support (CS) NCO or Officer MTO&E active-duty experience, coupled with other experience providing directly related specialized training support for Live Fire and Force-on-Force training.
- Official travel to countries in the AFRICOM or EUCOM AOs for the purposes of mission support is required.
- Preference will be given to TS/SCI but those with SECRET Security Clearance encouraged to apply
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- Army Master Gunner Course Graduate (or other Service equivalent).
- Direct experience in operation/support for any or all the following training/training support systems:
- Engagement Skills Trainer (EST)
- Call for Fire Trainer (CFFT)
- Unit Conduct of Fire Trainer (UCOFT/COFT)
- Advanced Gunnery Trainer (AGT)
- Bradley Advanced Gunnery Trainer (BAGT)
- Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System (MILES)
- Deployable Instrumentation System - Europe (DIS-E)

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$74,600-$156,700
