The Opportunity:
This role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance the overall service experience. To be successful in this role you’ll balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution to effectively deliver solutions that meet the needs of our customers. You will leverage your strong understanding of industry trends and best practices in service design, as well as excellent communication, and overall design skillsets.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver user-centric interfaces, user workflows, and design solutions for ServiceNow applications, including portals, workspaces, platform, and custom modules
- Build custom dashboards based on data models and external data sources. • Collaborate with stakeholders, developers, and product owners to translate business requirements into functional designs.
- Customize ServiceNow forms, portals, widgets, and dashboards using Service Portal, UI Policies, UI Scripts, and other relevant tools
- Work closely with developers to guide the implementation of UI components using ServiceNow Studio, UI Builder, and scoped applications.
- Collaborate effectively with other ServiceNow developers to develop solutions and handle general updates, configuration changes/requests to ensure functional and visually appealing outputs.
- Understand the business needs and the needs to standardize processes into standard ServiceNow design practices.
- Strong partnership experience with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication.
- Continuously optimize designs based on user feedback and analytics.
- Present and walk through your design solutions in team and management meetings, and leadership presentations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather user requirements and translate them into modern, user-friendly interfaces.
- Perform continuous improvements on existing interfaces to enhance user experience based on user feedback and analytics.
- Stay updated on UI/UX best practices and incorporate industry trends into design and development processes.
- Provide technical documentation and knowledge transfer to team members as needed.
Qualifications
- College degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems, Human-Computer
- Interaction (HCI), or a related field or discipline. Equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
• Hands-on experience designing within the ServiceNow platform Design System, especially in: Service Portal, App Engine,
Studio, or Workspace design.
- Demonstrated experience creating and customizing widgets using the Service Portal Widget Editor.
• Familiarity with Web 2.0 technologies, such as Java scripting, XML, HTML, Ajax, CSS, JSON, Perl, Apache Jelly, jQuery,
AngularJS, etc., and how designs are translated into front-end code.
• Hands on experience writing low and medium complexity JavaScript in Business Rules, Script Includes, and Custom ACLs.
• ServiceNow certifications (e.g., Certified Application Developer, UX Designer) are highly preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Can communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the
organization.
