Schedule:
  • Monday to Friday - 8:00 am - 5:00 pm - Full-time (40 hours per week )

Job Description

We’re seeking an exceptional Senior Systems Administrator to join our technical leadership team, where you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering enterprise-grade IT solutions to our sophisticated client base. This position offers unique challenges and growth opportunities as you’ll work across diverse technical environments while maintaining strict security and compliance standards. You’ll leverage your extensive experience to solve complex technical challenges, implement robust solutions, and provide senior-level guidance that directly impacts our clients’ business operations. This role combines technical excellence with client relationship management, offering an engaging blend of hands-on technical work and strategic problem-solving.


Responsibilities
  • Serve as the senior technical lead for complex client environments, providing expert-level system administration and infrastructure support
  • Provide high-level (Level 3⁄4) technical support to clients
  • Design, implement, and maintain robust technical solutions that meet strict security and compliance requirements
  • Deliver high-level technical support and strategic guidance to our diverse client base
  • Lead complex troubleshooting efforts and provide definitive resolution for challenging technical issues
  • Ensure all systems and solutions maintain compliance with industry standards, including HIPAA requirements
  • Architect and implement secure infrastructure solutions across multiple client environments
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on best practices for system administration and security
  • Manage and optimize critical client systems to ensure maximum performance and reliability
  • Handle complex system administration tasks
  • Expert-level troubleshooting skills across server, networking, and endpoint infrastructure.
  • Ability to handle complex escalations from Level 1 and 2 technicians with minimal supervision.

Technical Requirements
Server & Infrastructure:
  • 5+ years of experience supporting and maintaining Windows Server (2012R2, 2016, 2019, 2022).
  • Deep expertise with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and domain trust configurations.
  • Experience with Server Migrations and domain controller promotion/demotion.
  • Working knowledge of file and print services, DFS, and NTFS/share permissions.
Virtualization & Cloud:
  • Proficiency with Hyper-V in production environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration, including:
  • Exchange Online
  • SharePoint
  • Teams
  • Entra ID (Azure AD), Conditional Access Policies
  • Understanding of Azure IaaS (VMs, VNets, NSGs) and BCDR solutions in the cloud.
Networking:
  • Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, firewalls, routing, and switching.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting firewalls (WatchGuard, SonicWall, Fortinet, or equivalent).
  • Hands-on with VPNs (site-to-site and client-based), Wi-Fi deployments (Aruba, Unifi, Meraki, or equivalent).
Security & Compliance
  • Familiar with EDR/MDR tools (e.g., SentinelOne, Huntress, CrowdStrike).
  • Patch management strategies across endpoints and servers.
  • Working knowledge of SPF, DKIM, and DMARC configurations.
  • Exposure to HIPAA, NIST, or CIS compliance requirements.
Backup & DR
  • Experience administering BDR solutions such as Datto, Veeam, or Acronis.
  • Capable of executing full restore scenarios and testing disaster recovery procedures.
  • Understanding of RTO/RPO and disaster recovery planning.
Automation & Scripting:
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for administrative tasks and automation.
  • Familiarity with scripting in RMM tools like ConnectWise Automate.
  • Experience using APIs or integrations between platforms is a plus.
MSP Environment Experience
  • Previous experience working for an MSP or outsourced IT provider is required.
  • Strong understanding of PSA and RMM tools (e.g., ConnectWise, Autotask, Atera, etc.).
  • Comfortable documenting infrastructure in IT Glue, Hudu, or similar platforms.
  • Experience onboarding new clients, running discovery, and remediating messy environments.
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior technicians.
