A DAY IN THE LIFE
The AI Engineer supports the development and deployment of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning solutions that enhance the way Blattner’s utility-scale renewable energy projects are designed, planned, and built. This role focuses on building and maintaining models, applications, and pipelines that enable data-driven decision making across the enterprise. This role executes against established AI engineering standards, reference architectures, and delivery practices defined by the AI Innovation & Delivery team. The AI Engineer contributes technical input and implements approved designs, partnering with IT, data teams, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable solutions.
STEP INTO THE ROLE
- Builds, tests, and deploys components of AI/ML models and applications (features, services, pipelines) that support renewable energy planning, forecasting, construction optimization, and operational insights, under guidance and within established patterns and standards.
- Implements components of MLOps workflows including data pipelines, packaging, versioning, monitoring, and model retraining.
- Collaborates with IT and data teams to ensure AI solutions follow security, integration, and performance requirements.
- Breaks down requirements into well-defined technical tasks; implements approved technical designs and contributes implementation-level input during design reviews.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
- 2 or more years of professional experience in Machine Learning, AI Engineering, or related fields.
WHAT SETS YOU APART
- Experience developing AI/ML solutions and supporting deployment to cloud environments (Azure preferred), working within established engineering and security standards.
- Proficiency with Python, APIs, and modern ML frameworks (e.g., Scikit-learn, XGBoost, Langchain, Tensorflow, LlamaIndex, etc.)
- Understanding of data engineering concepts, cloud services, and enterprise integration patterns.
