United States onlyThe Collections Paralegal will assist attorneys and collections personnel by providing clerical and research support services including document preparation and review; research; investigations; fact checking; and legal group litigation reporting. This is a fully remote position.
Job Responsibilities
- Serves as BHDIC’s primary point of contact for third-party collections agencies, outside counsel and in-house attorneys to provide updates, gather documentation, and manage litigation from initial complaint through post-judgment litigation.
- Drafts and edits legal documents including pleadings, subpoena responses, affidavits, and releases.
- Researches and analyzes statutes, regulations, and other sources to assist with legal requests.
- Travel as necessary to serve as a witness or legal representative for the company in court proceedings and mediation sessions related to collections matters.
- Assists attorneys with correspondence to third-party vendors and collections law firms.
- Develops and maintains reporting on litigated matters.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:
- Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or related field required; Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or related field preferred.
- Paralegal certificate required.
- Previous insurance industry related experience preferred.
- Collections litigation experience required.

In accordance with pay transparency laws and regulations, the following good faith compensation range estimate is being provided. The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $75,000 per year. Final compensation will be based on candidate qualifications, geographic location, and other considerations permitted by law.
